Growth For Mobile Phone AdWords Ads

An interesting study on the growth of mobile phone use and advertising has been published over at:  

It predicts that by 2013, there will be 239 million smart phone users in North America with 95% having 3G network data plans in the U.S..

This then likely has big implications for adwords advertisers.  Currently, there are limitations with mobile advertising.  These can include a limited targeted market, the number of ads shown is limited, and customers do not always find it easy or secure to order or engage through their phones.

Some products and services may have an easier time succeeding with mobile advertising.

Despite this, mobile advertising appears to be maturing steadily and to be an important part of future AdWords marketing.  The study does warn that there appears to be customer resistance to ads, but this seems to be expected.

Another report predicts that mobile ad spending will reach 5.7 billion by 2014:
