Facebook Fanpage Secrets

Posted by on March 8, 2010 11:58 AM

Today's post is slightly off topic from AdWords and PPC.  Though, it does tie-in.

You see, a month or so ago... I told your about a product called, "Crowd Conversion," a Facebook training system.

Since then I've slowly, but surely begun implementing the course, creating a new fan page over at:

So, inside this post... I want to reveal some of the tactics used to create this page... so you can do it on your own.

Let's dig-in with the tips:

  • First, we created customized pages.  This allowed us to add a welcome, products, free e-ecourse and other tabs.  To do this, we used "FBML pages," which you can add by picking-up an application in the directory: http://www.facebook.com/apps/directory.php (just search for "FBML").
  • Encourage interaction with an "Ask an expert" page.  This allows us to interact with you and provide new content for the blog and soon Facebook page.
  • Telling visitors WHY they should join as a fan... what's in it for them.  This is helpful because folks may not stumble onto this page from us... but they may get referred by a friend.  If this is the case, they have no idea who we are or why they should care.  Thus, a good portion of them would otherwise click away.
  • Adding a simple graphic to the top of the customized pages to encourage new fans.  This helps stop visitors who are browsing and encourages action.
  • Create multiple opportunities for visitors to get off Facebook and into our business funnel.  Facebook is great... but we want to continue the conversation about AdWords elsewhere to get the most from our presence.  This means the addition of the free e-course and multiple opportunities to see other products and services.

Put simply, Facebook is an amazing opportunity... and we are working on implementing other ingredients that we'll be sharing with you in the future.

So, how does this tie-in to AdWords?

Facebook is a great way to transform paid traffic into customers and fans.  You may use the Facebook page as "Thank you page" and encourage your leads to join you on your fan page.
