6 million search removal requests to Google in the month of August!

Copyright holders have sent as many as 6 million search removal requests to Google last month. This staggering number was announced in the search engine’s newly updated Transparency Report Page.

The numbers shared by Google are like these:

  1. 5,810,004 - URLs Requested to be Removed
  2. 32,147 - Specified Domains
  3. 1,906 - Copyright Owners
  4. 1,417 - Reporting Organizations

The top domains which have seen removal requests are:

  • filestube.com- 306,870 requests
  • torrenthound.com- 184,323 requests
  • downloads.nl- 123,737 requests
  • isohunt.com- 118,308 requests
  • filesonicsearch.com- 100,943 requests
